Hi. Yeah, we love rewards programs. Right? We’re loyal to your restaurant, your airline whatever. And in exchange you give us free stuff, but here’s the rub. They’re all facing these rising costs, thanks to inflation and supply chain problems. So they have to make up the difference somewhere. Right, well now it’s the loyalty programs we rely on to save us money. They’re targeting those major changes this year and it’s gonna cost you more to get that free stuff. Now, First up, let’s talk coffee here at Starbucks. It’s gonna cost you more to get free stuff. So when you spend money here, you earn points here at Starbucks, they’re called Stars. So to get *** free coffee or *** free tea or *** free baked good, this is *** scone right here. It used to cost you 50 stars Get any of these free. Now, it’s gonna cost you 100 stars. So you got to spend more money. Come on over here, these handcrafted drinks, the lats and the hot breakfast to get something free. It used to cost you 100 and 50 stars. Now it’s gonna cost you 200 stars. Duncan is making changes to under the old rewards program. You used to have to spend about $40 to get *** free drink of your choice. Now to get *** free cup of coffee, you’ll need to spend about $50 want *** free latte, you’ll be spending over $70 but that’s not even the worst part. Duncan stop, stop giving out free drinks on your birthday to yes. Even your birthday is taking *** hit here at ruby Tuesday. Used to be able to get *** free burger entree. It does look good on your birthday. No more by burger now, I mean it does look nice. You just get *** free dessert. But here’s the thing, it’s not just the big corporate major chance we’re getting hit too. Even here at, at the small local businesses, this is one of my favorite Delhi’s. My family comes here all the time. It used to be that you can carry over your points to the next year. If you use all of them, nope now they expire, use them or not. And finally, it’s getting harder to reach status with an airline, The three largest carriers are raising the requirements at Delta. You’ll need to spend 2000 more to qualify for gold medallions Status at United. You’ll need to collect more points and more flights in the year to qualify for *** premier status and an American airlines, you’ll need 10,000 more points to earn gold status. So why all the changes, experts say during the pandemic, as airlines allowed us to roll over our miles too many people achieve status. The special perk isn’t so special anymore. So they’re trying to balance it out. The companies tell us, they’re always updating their rewards programs that are actually trying to add some new perks in to make up for the other changes. And remember these rewards programs do offer discounts and coupons so you can still save money with them. They’re basically free to sign up. I’m gonna post more about the changes and links to each program so you can see the specifics and sign up my website, Rawson Reports dot com back to you.
